BOOK RECOMMENDATION – August 2020.
A new monthly feature of Excel training, because a book, It can change a life..
We begin with a book that advocates a lazy leader?
Yes, and we recommend it.
Written by Ricardo Parreira, CEO of PHC Software
The author argues that the ideal leader is the lazy one, who doesn't really want to do anything, just wants to... that the team does everything and manages to do everything on its own.. One of the biggest problems in leadership is when the leader thinks they can do better. What happens in this scenario? The team doesn't grow, becomes too dependent, and stagnates.
Another very interesting passage in the book is when the author writes that as one climbs the hierarchy, the slightest notion of reality exists., except for people who say What do they think of the management?. Remember that the only way to combat this is to constantly ask for feedback. This is very interesting because in most organizations, feedback is associated with a top-down logic, not a bottom-up one. Feedback needs to be 360 degrees. and constant.
In this book, there are several noteworthy passages, but one that makes one think is when the author states that a truly well-managed company is one that... It deals with what's important, long before it becomes urgent..
